O alemão Sebastian Vettel testou positivo para a Covid-19 e está fora do GP do Bahrein, abertura do Mundial de Fórmula 1. O tetracampeão mundial será substituído por Nico Hulkenberg, piloto reserva da Aston Martin.
O anúncio foi feito na manhã desta quinta-feira (17). Esta será a quarta vez que Hulkenberg substitui um titular com Covid. Em 2020, quando o time ainda se chamava Racing Point, ele participou das duas etapas de Silverstone no lugar de Sergio Pérez. No mesmo ano, o alemão ainda substituiu Lance Stroll no GP de Eifel, em Nurburgring.
Sebastian Vettel está no Bahrein desde a semana passada e participou normalmente da última bateria de testes coletivos, entre quinta e sábado.
UPDATE: Sebastian Vettel has tested positive for COVID-19 and will therefore not be taking part in the 2022 #BahrainGP.
